Gray Whales & Desert Road Trip
March 8 - 15, 2020
Discover the beauty of Baja with WRI Biologists showing you the flora & fauna along the way to the gray whale calving and mating waters of Scammon's Lagoon! Our first destination is the greater Ensenada area where you'll feast on brunch in Puerto Nuevo (famous for their fresh lobster!) and sight see at one of Baja's natural wonders, La Bufadora. Overnight and explore San Quintin the next day then drive to Cataviña where you'll journey through the Valley of the Cirios-- a lush desert forest of endemic plant species that will inspire your imagination just like it did for Dr. Seuss who frequented this wild area! Cataviña will connect you to Baja's plant life during a guided hike through a desert wash to native petroglyphs. It's truly magical! On the third day, you will finally reach our southern destination, Guerrero Negro, and spend your days there in whale waters, birdwatching, relaxing, and exploring. As you head back north to San Diego, we will pitstop in Bahia de Los Angeles and San Quintin. You will complete your epic Baja road trip with lunch in Valle de Guadalupe! This will definitely be your bucket list trip!!
